What are the Press Office hours of operation?Open

The Press Office is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Are video cameras and still photography permitted in court?Open

The District Attorney’s Office takes no position on photography in the courtroom, and has no involvement in process to approve photography in the courtroom. Please make an application with the court.

Can I obtain a mugshot of the defendant?Open

No. The District Attorney’s Office does not provide mugshots.

I am working on a script/screenplay/novel about the District Attorney’s Office. Would you be able to consult on a hypothetical scenario I would like to include?Open

No. The District Attorney’s Office cannot provide hypothetical legal advice.

Whom should I contact to file a criminal complaint?Open

The Press Office is not authorized to accept information about criminal activity. To report or provide information about a crime, call 212-335-8900 or 212-335-8922.  In an emergency situation or if you are in danger, please call 911 for assistance.

How do I check the status of a defendant’s case?Open

WebCrims is a free case information service provided by the New York State Unified Court System. You may register as a guest to search for cases by Case Number or Party Name and produce calendars by County and Part or Judge.
