Special Prosecutions Bureau
The Special Prosecutions Bureau investigates and prosecutes a wide variety of financial crimes such as employee embezzlement, fraudulent documents, insurance fraud, arson, unauthorized practice of law, thefts committed by attorneys and other professionals, bank fraud, offenses related to real estate and housing, computer offenses, and all kinds of schemes to defraud the public. The Bureau also has two specialized units. The Elder Abuse Unit investigates financial crimes committed against senior citizens and the Immigrant Affairs Program focuses on fraud schemes targeting the immigrant community.
Anyone who has been the victim or is aware of a financial crime or fraud that requires investigation prior to arrest may call, write, or visit the Bureau.

To report or provide information about a crime, call the Downtown Office Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, and 1:30 to 5:00 PM. (212) 335-8900 or (212) 335-8922. Visit the Downtown Office to make a complaint or provide information Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 2:30 – 4:30 PM. The Special Prosecutions Bureau is on the 7th Floor of One Hogan Place (side entrance to 100 Centre Street).
To report or provide information about a crime at the District Attorney’s Northern Manhattan Office, call Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00 PM, (212) 864-7884, or visit the office during those hours. The Northern Manhattan Office is on the 7th floor of the State Office Building, 163 West 125th Street.
