Visual Evidence

The Visual Evidence Unit is composed of three divisions: the Engineering Unit, the Video Unit and the Photography Unit. With the aid of AutoCAD’s progressive software programs in 3D design, drafting and architectural rendering, the Engineering Unit’s primary focus is re-creating crime scenes as scaled diagrams, models, or recreations. The Unit is also in charge of mounting and preserving the exhibits and photos that are submitted during a trial.

The Video Unit is responsible for recording statements, documenting evidence, and preparing presentations for trials with multi-media components. The Unit is also able to provide forensic video analysis, digital stills, audio/video enhancement and recovered materials from CCTV security systems.

Finally, the Photography Unit is responsible for taking, processing, and curating photos of crime scenes, victim injuries, property and text messages. The Photography Unit includes its own in-house photo lab, where digital or film photos may be copied, enlarged, or scanned.
